GISO ATTACK WAS REVENGE-POLICE

Kasese - Uganda Police has cited ex -DR Congolese Foreign Minister Mbusa Nyamwisi in the reprisal attack on an ISO operative in Kasese Tuesday night. Last night, Rwenzori Region DISO James Mulumbira was attacked together with another unidentified man and spent the rest of the night in Hospital in what is believed to be a revenge attack for Friday’s killing of a stone wielding

resident in Kasese who attempted to attack Police Officers.

Earlier reports had indicated that Mulumbira had died from his injuries but it’s now understood that the ISO operative is alive and recovering.

Unidentified assailants attacked the head of security, (Gomborora Internal Security Officer) for Buhuhira Sub County in Kasese district destroying most of his property and hacking him in what Police says is a revenge attack following Friday shooting dead of a resident in Kasese.

This raised tension amongst security operatives and according to the police majority of them have been advised to vacate their villages to the towns where their life is secured.

According to police they have no doubt what so ever these attacks are being managed by apparently arrogant Rwenzururu clergy that has consistently caused havoc in the region.

Mr. Mulhumbira according to reports was attacked by unknown assailants in Kasese town yesterday and around 8:30, who found him at a Malwa drinking point in Kisanga Market commonly known as Mawa market.

The police say they have received information on how Esiyamango youth being coordinated by the King Wesley Mumbere are planning more attacks on government officials, police and informants but the force is determined ensure security.

Six youths suspected to have been part of the attack of the ISO operative are currently in Police custody and the hunt for more is on.
