Mukono - The opposition Democratic Party in Mukono district stormed the offices of the district returning officer demanding recounting of votes of woman member of parliament.
A group led by Hanifa Nabukeera who lost to incumbent Peace Kusasira of NRM saying that she cannot concede defeat as the results declared were forged seeking a recount.
Members of democratic party decided to camp at the office of Mukono district returning officer demanding a recount of said votes.
By the time they reached the offices of returning officer Sarah Namugambe was not in office.
Police and army stormed the premises trying to disperse them, but all with little success.

The officials at the district later decided to receive their petition on behalf on the returning officer, and asked them to return tomorrow for a recount.

Hanifa lost to Peace Kusasira who was declared on Saturday evening causing demonstrations in town.
Police dispersed the angry mob, and drove the Peace Kusasira to her residence, saving her from the angry mob who wanted to administer mob justice on her.
