Police has denied raiding chambers of lawyers representing former presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi in the election petition case. Earlier claims had it that the force was involved I the Tuesday night raid on the chambers of counsels Muhamed Mbabazi on Buganda road and Fred Muwema on Acacia Avenue. In a press Conference on Wednesday,
Amama Mbabazi alleged that the attackers on Muhamed Mbabazi’s office along Buganda Road were clad in Police uniform, as eye witnesses attested to him.
He added that after the raid, they were seen walking back to Wandegey Police Station.
The office is located just Metres from Wandegeya Police Station behind YMCA in Wandegeya.
Now Police says the allegations are wild and utterly baseless.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Assan Kasingye says the allegations made by Mbabazi are meant to tarnish the force’s image.
Kasingye challenges those who allege to produce basic evidence pinning the force.
