INMATES DIE IN POLICE CELLS

Wakiso - Police in Wakiso is stuck with bodies of three suspects that allegedly died in cells last night. The deceased identified as Kamoga Ismail, Ssenyonjo Fredrick and Musenze Edwin were allegedly brought in cells all on one count.

The O/C Wakiso Police Station Nkurunziza Patrick says the suspects fast lynched by area residents’ in Mmende after they were caught in robbery. At about 3am this morning, Police received information about mob justice on the three, and responded to rescue them from the jaws of death.

The trio were rescued, but is very bad condition after sustaining severe injuries due to the beating administered by the angry mob. BYTE-NKURUZIZA

This morning at 4am, Mr Nkuriziza says the trio passed on, reportedly from the cells. He says they could have died due to internal bleeding after the severe beating. BYTE-NKURUZIZAV

Nkurunziza says Police has earlier received numerous complaints from the Public about the increased numbers of robbery cases in the area. The residents told UTN that robbers had begun staging illegal road blocks robbing residents of money, cell phones and other property.
