POLICE THREATENS TO ARREST LC1 VIOLATORS

The Uganda police have threatened to arrest individuals who might interrupt the Local council 1 and Parish elections due to take place tomorrow Tuesday 10th July 2018.

The police spokesperson Emirian Kayima while addressing journalists at Central Police Station, Kampala said preparations for the LC1 and Parish elections are done and the police have been briefed on how to handle these elections without any distraction from the people.

According to Kayima any person who will be found violating the electoral laws and are gelation will risk being apprehended.

The police also issued guidelines that the candidates will have to follow in this elections.

It’s close to 17 years ever since Ugandans last participated in LC1 and Parish elections.

The police has also issued guidelines to be followed a head of the finals of the FIFA World cup due on world cup which will take place on 15th July 2018.

Kayima advised owners of bars and beaches to ensure security to prevent what happened in July 2011 at lugogo.

Over 70 lost their lives following a bomb blast in Lugogo cricket oval and Ethiopian village in Kasanga.

Kayima advised the owners of these places should ensure that they have minimum standards of security ranging from CCTV cameras, security personnel, fire units, assembling points and emergency doors for emergency exits.

He also advised public to undertake personal safety especially at night adding that the Police patrols might not be in every place.
